Private AI chat features

Private AI Chat Features, Explained Without Fine Print

Isleo is a focused companion-chat product: choose a fictional character, open a one-to-one room preview, and sign in when you are ready to send a message. Here is what each feature does, what it depends on, and what privacy means in practical terms.

01

Character choice

What you can do
Choose a fictional character whose background, interests, and tone give the room a clear starting point. You can select the kind of conversation you want instead of beginning from an empty prompt.
What happens
Isleo opens a one-to-one room with that character. The character is fictional, but its defined identity helps keep the conversation’s voice and context recognizable as the room continues.
What it does not promise
It does not promise a real person, human understanding, or perfectly consistent replies. A fictional character can make a conversation easier to enter; it cannot replace a relationship or qualified support.
02

Guest access

What you can do
Browse characters, select one, and open a room before you sign in. This lets you see the companion and the focused room interface before creating an account.
What happens
The room is a preview until you sign in. Sending a message and receiving a reply require sign-in. After signing in, you can use the chat and account-based features available to your plan.
What it does not promise
It does not promise a guest conversation, guest replies, saved history, or a portable transcript before sign-in. The preview helps you choose a character; it is not an active chat.
03

Saved account history

What you can do
Return to signed-in conversations without rebuilding the recent context from scratch. Your rooms stay separated by companion so you can pick up the thread you chose.
What happens
Isleo saves signed-in messages to your account and loads recent history when you return to a character. That storage makes continuity convenient and is part of how the experience works.
What it does not promise
It does not promise zero retention, end-to-end encryption, or that saved history is risk-free. Read the Privacy Policy and avoid sharing information you would not want processed or stored.
04

Backend-routed model access

What you can do
Send a message from the Isleo room without putting a model-provider API key in your browser. You use the same focused chat experience while Isleo manages the server-side model connection.
What happens
Your message reaches Isleo’s protected chat route first. The server applies its controls, prepares the necessary recent context, and sends it to the configured provider while keeping service credentials server-side.
What it does not promise
It does not promise local-only AI, end-to-end encryption, or that no provider processes the text needed to reply. Do not treat a private room as a guarantee that sensitive information should be shared.

The data path

What happens after you send a message?

Your browser sends the message to Isleo's protected chat route. The server validates the request, applies usage and safety controls, and builds the recent conversation context needed for a useful reply.

The server then sends that necessary text to its configured model provider. For signed-in users, Isleo stores messages so history can be restored. The model key remains on the server throughout this path.

This is not end-to-end encryption, zero retention, or local-only AI. If those properties are essential to you, Isleo is not the right claim to rely on. Read the Privacy Policy before sharing sensitive information.
